Padlet is user friendly with many different opportunities for students to organize their ideas with one another. The blog post by International Society of Technology in Education explained the top trends for using technology in education. Padlet mostly assimilates to the trend, "Creativity and Innovative Learning". This category of technology is best described as using technology by both teachers and students to empower creativity in the classroom. Padlet falls under this trend due to the ability to collaborate with one another using YouTube videos, pictures, gifs, and online links. This can be great for students who are visual learners or students who may not want to participate in class. Students can hold discussions while incorporating the internet as a tool to further their classroom discussions. This ultimately makes content more engaging for students. The concept that students can share their ideas with one another virtually form anywhere makes Padlet a creative tool for them to use.
There are pros and cons to Padlet, as discussed in the video above, but I truly believe that the positives outweigh the negatives and it is a very resourceful tool to have. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on Padlet!
